About the Shearins

David and his wife Vicki are the founders and Pastors of Word of Life Christian Center, a multi-cultural church in Las Vegas, Nevada with various outreaches, including an international television ministry (The Word for Living), Word of Life Bible Institute, and Word of Life Christian Academy, (Pre-K through 12th grade school). David is the author of five books, and Vicki has authored two books. David and Vicki are in demand as speakers for conferences and events across the nation, and are broadly acclaimed for their ability to teach the word of God with compassion, integrity and humor. Both are graduates of RHEMA Bible Training College, and members of RHEMA Ministerial Association International.

Pastor David serves as the Area 2 (Nevada, Arizona and Utah) Regional Director of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the largest pro-Israel grassroots organization in the United States, with over 7 million members mobilized to speak and act with one voice in defense of Israel. Vicki is the Nevada State Director of Daughters For Zion, the prayer ministry under the umbrella of CUFI. They and their congregation have hosted “A Night to Honor Israel” annually in Las Vegas for 11 years. The event is an unconditional tribute to the State of Israel and the Jewish people, promoting esteem and understanding between Christians and Jews and emphasizing that the values we hold in common are far greater than the differences we have allowed to separate us. Through this event, members of the Christian and Jewish communities have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations given to absorption centers, hospitals and youth centers in Israel, and to support Holocaust survivors.

David and Vicki have hosted several ”Pastors Familiarization Tours” to Israel where Christian leaders are transformed into Zionist activists, and they have sponsored trips for young adults from Nevada to Washington DC to attend the CUFI Summit and be trained to advocate for Israel on college and university campuses. They rallied the Christian Community in Nevada to support Senate Bill 26, which was introduced by Lt Governor Hutchison after he heard about such Anti-BDS legislation at “A Night to Honor Israel” hosted at Word of Life Christian Center. David and Vicki traveled to Carson City in May of 2017 to speak before the Nevada Assembly Committee Hearing on behalf of the Bill, along with representatives of Jewish Nevada and The Israeli American Counsel, and ultimately succeeded in getting it signed into law.

Pastors David and Vicki Shearin are passionate about educating and empowering people in pro-Israel matters, and confronting anti-semitism wherever and however it manifests. As Pastors, as CUFI Leaders, and as Christians, their motto has been, “Never again; not on our watch!”

Leadership

Christians United for Israel is a grassroots organization. We operate with a very small paid staff, and depend heavily on our volunteer leaders. The dedicated men and women who donate their time to do the heavy lifting in the field are our most valuable resource. From the leadership of our executive board to the local leaders in each city, these volunteers play a critical role in making Israel stronger and her people safer.

Because we are a grassroots organization, CUFI City Directors carry the primary responsibility for developing relationships with local pastors, business leaders, politicians, and the Jewish community. City Directors receive support and guidance from their State Directors, who in turn collaborate with Regional Directors. The Executive Board, led by Chairman Pastor John Hagee and Co-Executive Directors Diana Hagee and Shari Dollinger, provides the national oversight and strategic insight for CUFI.

Once a year, all of our volunteer leaders meet in San Antonio for the CUFI Leadership Summit. At the Leadership Summit, we share our victories over the last year and lay out the vision for the coming year.
